Vinh Long tennis beauty holds back pain to win 3 titles at the top pickleball tournament in the West

Despite her sore leg due to continuous competition, beauty Thao Mai impressed by winning 3 titles, including 1 championship at the 2nd PHH Club Pickleball Open for the 2nd Bay Phu Lam Cup in 2025.

 

 

Nguyen Thi Thao Mai is one of the most impressive names at the 2nd PHH Club Pickleball Open for the 2nd Bay Phu Lam Cup in 2025, taking place on April 26 and 27 in Vinh Long City (Vinh Long Province). The largest tournament in the West at present with about 400 athletes competing.

 

In just one day, April 27, this beauty from Vĩnh Long competed in 2 events: 6.0 freestyle doubles and 5.0 mixed doubles. Together with her teammate Nghiêm Sơn, Thảo Mai won all the matches in the group stage, advancing all the way to the final, before winning 15-9 in the doubles match between Trần Thanh Điền and Nguyễn Hoàng Quân to be crowned champion in 6.0 freestyle doubles.

 

At the same time, she won third place in 5.0 mixed doubles (paired with Trần Anh Huy). A day earlier, Thảo Mai also won third place in 4.5 women's doubles, thereby winning 3 consecutive titles in just 2 days in the same tournament.

 

It is known that the tennis player born in 1995 played tennis for 7 years before switching to pickleball. Thanks to that, she quickly adapted to the new sport, as well as possessing good technique and mobility.

 

“I was very surprised when all 3 events I registered to compete in were successful. Especially when my leg was sore after competing continuously. I plan to rest for about 10 days to recover from the injury before continuing to practice and compete. I hope I will continue to reap success in the next tournaments,” Thao Mai revealed.

 

In the remaining 2 events on the competition day of April 27, Nguyen Minh Triet and Bui Thi Tuyen won the 5.0 mixed doubles championship after winning 15-9 against Pham Manh Lam and Nguyen Thi Thuong. In parallel, Nicholas Khamphilath and Nguyen Pham Cong Danh defeated Tran Anh Tuan and Huynh Chi Khuong with a score of 2-0 (11-4 and 11-6) in the final match, thereby winning the Open doubles championship.

 

Closing 2 days of competition, the 2nd PHH Club Pickleball Open for the 2nd Bay Phu Lam Cup in 2025 ended successfully with many dramatic matches, receiving many compliments from athletes and fans.
